III. General information about data processing

1. Scope of processing of personal data

As a matter of principle, we collect and use the personal data of our users only to the extent required to provide a functioning website and the content and services we offer. Our users’ personal data is usually collected and used only with the consent of those users. An exception arises in cases where obtaining consent in advance is not possible for practical reasons and processing of the data is permitted by statutory regulations.

2. Legal basis for processing personal data

Where we obtain the consent of the data subject for processing procedures, Art. 6 (1) a) of the GDPR shall serve as the legal basis. When processing personal data that is required to fulfil a contract to which the data subject is a party, Art. 6 (1) b) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing procedures that are required for implementation of pre-contractual measures. Where processing of personal data is required to fulfil a legal obligation (statutory provisions) to which our company is subject (e.g. German Federal Registration Act), Art. 6 (1) c) of the GDPR serves as the legal basis. If processing is required to pursue a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, basic rights and freedoms of the data subject do not override the aforementioned interest, Art. 6 (1) f) of the GDPR shall serve as the legal basis for processing.

3. Erasure of data and storage period

The personal data of the data subject is erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of its storage no longer obtains. It may be stored for longer if this is permitted under European or national legislation in ordinances, laws or other regulations of EU law to which the data controller is subject. The data is also blocked or deleted when a storage period prescribed by the above regulations elapses, unless there is a requirement for further storage of the data to conclude or fulfil a contract.
